Kayla Catan
Kayla is a NYC based actor, born and raised in not-actually-so-bad New Jersey. She has degrees in acting, directing and English from Muhlenberg College, as well as a degree in physical theatre from Accademia dell’Arte in Arezzo, Italy. Much of her work in New York has involved some combo of children’s theatre, puppetry, Shakespeare and devised ensemble work. Her most recent credits include Mickey, a role she originated, in Vital Theatre Company’s Fashion Academy the Musical, and Wanda in Exquisite Corpse Company's Wanda, Daisy and the Great Rapture. Collaborating with Theatre in Asylum is such an honor and she can’t wait to share the work!

With Theater in Asylum: TIA Debates
Theater in Asylum (TIA) is a New York-based theater company founded in 2010 to challenge and empower our community. TIA joyfully pursues a rigorous research and an ensemble-driven approach to theater-making. We create performances to investigate our past, interpret our present, and imagine our future. We prize space to process, space to question—asylum—for ourselves and our community.
