Kathryn Appleton
Kathryn Appleton is a theater producer and administrator based in New York and San Francisco. Past producing credits include: Theater in Asylum’s productions of Occupy Prescott, The Debates, Totally Wholesome Foods, #Coriolanus; ¡Olé!, Revolution in 1, and Frankenstein; Lemon Cake, directed by Julia Locascio; and the live-streamed stage reading of The Idealist, featuring Alison Pill and Tony Roberts. Most recently the Director of Marketing at San Francisco Opera, she has served the Managing Director of Theater in Asylum since 2011.

TIA joyfully pursues a rigorous research and an ensemble-driven approach to theater-making. We create performances to investigate our past, interpret our present, and imagine our future. We prize space to process, space to question—asylum—for ourselves and our community.
