Francine Pinheiro
Francine is an actor, singer, and producer from Queens. Her love of storytelling started with her first role as Jane in Mary Poppins in 8th grade. Favorite roles include Hester (In the Blood), Julia (Julia de Burgos: Child of Water), and Jewel (Detention). Francine is a member of Educational Play Productions and a guest teaching artist at Manhattan Theater Club. Francine served as associate producer on Coach of the Year, an independent narrative feature and as associate producer of the musical Havana Music Hall (Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre). She is super excited to work with the amazingly talented collaborators of Theater in Asylum and grateful for the community it offers. Pastimes include singing, playing the ukulele, and exploring the great outdoors. Francine is about to earn her MFA at East 15 School of Acting in the UK. Stay tuned! Theater in Asylum (TIA) is a New York-based theater company founded in 2010 to challenge and empower our community. TIA joyfully pursues a rigorous research and an ensemble-driven approach to theater-making. We create performances to investigate our past, interpret our present, and imagine our future. We prize space to process, space to question—asylum—for ourselves and our community.
